Footloose and Facebook Free

Today is the last day of the liver cleanse which I followed in this first week of 2017. It was a perfect alignment that it arrived in the mail just in time to be a "New Year's cleanse". In mid-December, I experienced several evenings with a mild, dull pain under my right rib cage. The final evening that I felt it coming on, it escalated to a full-blown gall bladder attack. My best guess is that I had a hefty gall stone that was trying to pass through a tiny duct, and it felt like a miniature taste of what childbirth may be like (am I yet to experience this). I went in and out of being able to move or speak properly because of the level of pain that came when waves of contracting organs were literally squeezing me. It was one of the times I can most relate to an out-of-body experience.

It was so unpleasant that I knew I needed a full liver detox to do my best to flush out any other unwanted toxins or tidbits. So if you're feeling like your liver needs some lovin', visit Global Healing Center's online store and order yourself up a liver cleanse kit (actually, I just went to the site and it's out of stock... a lot of liver lovin' is happening apparently...but they have a spot where you can leave your contact to be informed when it's back in stock!). It requires minimizing food intake to particular fruits and veggies (and a few nuts) for 5 days and a very structured daily routine of drinking some potions too. Oh, and a lot of toilet paper. A lot. Like, buy some shares.

I quit Facebook!  It feels sooooo good. I feel free and happy and connected to real humans more than I have in a loooong time. I am focusing more on Me and the people who are right here in my community. For those loved ones far away...we have phones. Skyping. Letters in the mail. Emails. Photo albums. In-person reunions. That's what my 2017 will be full of. This week has been loaded with many of these already. Yahoo!

I closed my Facebook account on January first. Then we decided to have a movie night, which we don't do often. We chose to watch Snowden. We knew little of what it was about. Wow. Was it ever relevant! If you aren't familiar with who Ed Snowden is, he is a former CIA agent who leaked info about the lack of privacy around our information that we all share on computers, email, social media and cell phones. It is a real eye-opener. Make it your next movie night and be ready to learn a lot. We sure did. (The government may be flagging this blog right now. *shiver* Oh well. Maybe they will learn something new by reading it?) Click here for the link to the movie trailer.

We rang in the new year with a plant medicine journey around a campfire under a starry winter sky. It was perfect and relaxed. It reminded me to have fun and take time to laugh and enjoy the simple things: the hidden bits of magic and the special souls who weave their way through our lives.

Our lovely friend, Christine, and myself have recorded a handful of episodes of our consciousness-themed chat show that we call "Walking the Path".  Each episode, we select a topic and then press record. We completely wing it each time and it's so much fun. I am really excited to share this one with you. It's my favorite so far. They all have nuggets of good info and wisdom in them. I even feel like I learn a whole lot from them!

Speaking of wisdom, I am into a few amazing books this week. Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom by Dr. Christiane Northrup. It's brilliant, and even though it's from 1998 it is highly relevant now (with some outdated details). She weaves together science, physiology, spirituality and reality in a beautiful way. Very vulnerable and real.

I was recently given a vintage pocket-sized copy of The Prophet by Khalil Gibran. The first time I read this gem was in 2011. A friend offered it to me when I was wading through some very rough tides. It blew my mind and heart wide open. His poetry is magical love alchemy on paper. I can't wait to dive in again!!!

Lastly, but not least, I will re-mention the Gene Keys book and evolution system. It continues to excite me and helps me to focus on the divine essences of many people, including myself
www.genekeys.com  You can learn more about it, and get your free gene keys profile here.

I have been accepted into a summer yoga teacher training program in my Pennsylvanian hometown, at the Himalayan Institute. I am so excited for this opportunity!!!  It's been a long time coming (13 years to be exact). Ommmmm sweet Ommmmmm.

Ps. This is a must see clip - partly humorous... but mostly how I see social media. Thanks friend, for passing this along!

The Road Less Traveled

I could feel these words ready to burst forth when I climbed into bed last night. I was humming a song called "Take Me Up" from a live performance of a Canadian band called Oliver Swain and the Big Machine that I had just returned from. That particular tune paints an image of going up to space to live life elsewhere with aliens. It's a strangely beautiful symphony. I was feeling uplifted and vibrationally charged with love and music.
This is one of my life medicines: musical magic.

Another recent dose of musical medicine from Nahko and Medicine for the People. Amazing.

Plant medicines have also been a varying part of my entire life (as for most of us) , though many of us don't even realize this (yet). Now, in the last two years these beautiful beings have taken the honorary copilot seat in my life. (Or maybe I am the copilot with the poorly folded, crumpled maps?!) Either way, we have been having a beautiful journey together so "who is leading who" doesn't feel much like it matters. Back to this topic shortly...

I had been trying to push aside the nagging message that I kept receiving to disentangle myself from the virtual reality of Facebook. It has come and gone many times in the last few years. The idea of being "connected" to those that I love is what has kept me involved. That and the fact that I have been using Facebook heavily to promote our cacao ceremonies and my crafty crystal headband creations that are for sale (and my other businesses prior to that). {Insert business plug} www.etsy.com/ca/shop/OpenAriseCreations is how you can find the magical headbands!!!

Well it's happening! Finally. I have officially announced to the world of Facebook that as of January 1st, 2017, I will be freed of its temptations until it makes sense to use it (if ever). This has punted me into action to find new ways to promote what I'm offering and to go back to basics with my communication techniques. This is a retrain-the-brain exercise and I'm trying to be very patient with my transitioning skills. Old habits can be so tricky to shrug off! (Please subscribe to this blog on the top right of this page if you're interested to keep up with our uncharted adventures. You can also reach us at oneworldwellness@yahoo.CA)

On this road less traveled I am already excited to be discovering what is possible without this cloud of new technology that we have been thoroughly trained to rely on for almost everything in life. I have known that less technology is the key to furthering my personal awareness of self and the endless streams of magic that swirl around us all. If we are focused on screens of all shapes and sizes then our amazing senses are not as trained to the subtleties of the universal play of existence. So many of us have been and are in denial about the way we live and communicate as a culture. I feel it becoming a massive divider, not a true connector.

Plant medicine is all around us.

Back to the plants. I'm sitting in a beautiful veggie garden where we are housesitting, soaking up some sunshine, which is not a readily available medicine in this darker, wetter season on Vancouver Island.
I feel more relaxed and freer by the day. Life has given me so many opportunities to explore the infinite realms that are teetering on the edge of my discomfort. My sphere of comfort and acceptance continues expanding each time that I relax into the flow of the river of Life. Plant medicine journeys of various types have been guiding me to places of awareness that I never imagined possible. Awareness of my self. My thoughts. My words. My actions. My beliefs. My relations. My surroundings. It is a strange seat of awareness to sit in. I feel as though I am walking a winding path between the reality of our "normal" global society as an average collective, and then a wildly magical and beautiful reality that I know is the natural state of being for all of Life. It's wonderful, although at times, challenging. I have only met a few others (so far) who seem to have been navigating a similar path. We happened to cross paths which has given us all reassurance to keep going. It can feel a bit lonely at times, having few people who can relate to me in my current state of awareness. As the days pass, I notice more and more humans past and present (mostly musicians, authors and other artistic types) are revealing themselves as familiar friends of this journey of collective love and cosmic awareness. I am practicing (key word) deep patience and acceptance with myself and all others. I often have no words to describe even the simplest experiences of daily life in this "between the realms" reality. Simple conversations have become a bit challenging for me. The question of "how are you doing today?" has become a funny one.  Being with others together in a collective space of loving intention is what feels pertinent and crucial NOW and always. It's a fun experiment. That much I know.

This guy knows the path that I speak of.

Tanner and I have become the rocks in the river for many friends and acquaintances throughout our parallel journeys together. Wherever we find ourselves, people seem to gravitate toward us to seek shelter and support in our presence. We are not gurus or spiritual teachers or anything you can label. We are just like everyone else but perhaps we just approach life a bit differently. "Human beings on another fucking journey"-Nahko haha. Well said.

*drumroll* The secret Rx for happiness we use is this:
*Let go of our fears (or prove them to be just-plain-silly), one by one.
*Take chances: some little, some BIG.
*Trust in the MAGIC (thanks Carien).
*Ask for what we need.
*Say how we feel.
*Be ourselves. If you don't know who you are, do whatever it takes to get to know the essence of YOU.

That's it. Perhaps you will try this for 2017...we all have the wisdom within.

I love writing. The space between these blogs has grown uncomfortably huge. I intend to write more often again. I should have more freed up time coming without FB.

Until the next time the words are bursting forth....I leave you with these two lovely tunes. The lyrics are as lovely as the sounds. EnJOY!

Naked Living: Saying Goodbye to Our Old Stuff

Take a moment to imagine this scenario: You have eliminated all emotional bandaids from your existence. You are no longer avoiding real life or distracting yourself from feeling your emotions. Wow. Whoa. Wait a minute here. I don't do that, you might say. Well, let's take a closer peek, shall we?

What might this new life look like?
Probably something like this:

No more relax-me alcohol. (Yes, this includes wine and craft beers.)

No more soothing cigarettes.

No more junk/comfort food. (Even the organic and/or gluten-free kind.)

No more pick-me-up daily coffees. (Even the organic and Fair Trade kind.)

No more recreational drugs. (Even the organic, homegrown kind.

No more prescription drugs. (There are definitely alternatives to nearly all of them.)

No more television. Get rid of that thing!

No more video games. (Including apps.)

No more overly-obsessive activities. (Exercise, sex, work, shopping...and on and on.)

No more self-sabotage. Tough one.

No more drag-you-down hold-you-back relationships.

(No. More. Facebook? I'm still working on minimizing that one...and keeping myself limited and to the point when I am on there!)

Boring, right?!
But just wait...
This new life might also look something like this:

Just feeling happy. Even joyful!

Lots of amazing friends!

Socializing as yourself. Just plain old you. No more masks.

A clear and healthy mind.

Just facing your issues. Then forgiving everyone involved. Including yourself.

A clean, strong, and well-functioning body.

Communicating your needs and feelings clearly.

A strong sense of spirituality.

Pleasant (or even awesome) relations with family members.

Time to prepare amazing, nourishing, healthy food.

A loving and supportive partner. (If you desire to meet one.)

Lots of time in nature.

Time to partake in your passions and follow your heart.

This is a lot like what our lives look like right now. It may sound boring to some but to us, it feels anything but that. It feels like a gigantic blessing. Everysingleday. You can live this way. Just make the choice. It's all in your hands. No more excuses.

How and why did I choose this way of living?
Mostly out of self love and respect, I believe. Also, I have a strong desire to love others the same way that I love myself. To accept people for who they truly are underneath it all. Beautiful spirits. To truly know people for who they are on a soul level. To know the truth of how it feels to be a human without any adulterations

Has it been challenging?
You bet! It's been super challenging, at times. I have done everything on the first list (except smoke a cigarette. I haven't done that.) But all the others have been challenges and obstacles that I have overcome. Some more than once. Some still creep in from time to time. Like snacks! Who doesn't love a good ol' cookie or some chips?!

I went to a liquor store today to find some empty boxes. When I walked in, all I saw was colorful flashing signs and clever, artsy labels that were reminiscent of a toy store, or candy shop, but for adults. Promotions and gimmicks like free beer cozies or tee shirts. I am often baffled by the collective consent of our world. "Drink alcohol friends! Everyone does it. Wine is classy!" Numb your pain. Forget your worries. Pretend that your marriage is just fine. What debt? Cool dudes slam back a cold one after work. Let loose. Forget life. Relax a little. Blend with the crowd. Alcohol is just one small example of this insane collective consent that our society calls reality

With those empty cardboard boxes, we are once again paring down our material possessions. I have shed my personal stuff twice before almost completely. Once in 2004, at age 21 when I moved to Alberta from Pennsylvania. All I took on the flight was a small carry-on sized suitcase. My mom shipped me some memorabilia a few years later. You know, some photos and such.

Then again in 2011, at age 29, when my partner of 8 years and I separated, I only took with me a car, a bed and pillow, a yoga mat, a bike and some clothes. That's all. Not a nic-nac or painting or fridge magnet. What are they for really? Memories? That's why we were gifted a memory as human beings. To collect and learn and remember the past but live in the present.

Stuff is one more thing that keeps us all weighed down. Energetically, mentally and physically. It's so easy to accumulate things. It's often much tougher to become unattached from them. We sifted (again) through a pile of totes of stuff that we had just sorted through six months ago before we left to travel. So we have decided this will be the final sifting as long as we are a "mobile wellness team". We do not want the invisible energetic tethers to our heap of belongings pulling at us from around the globe.

There are often many emotions attached to a lot of stuff. So it forced us to feel these emotions, smile and/or cry, and move onward. After 3+ hours of sorting dishes, clothing and various household items (about 3/4 of our total stuff) we both laid down in bed and felt a mountain of totes lighter while drifting away into dreamtime.

We are on day four of a liquid fast of mostly herbal teas (some cacao drinks) and coconut water. Cleansing our insides and our outsides simultaneously feels amazing. Realigning our bodies, minds and spirits after a long journey. And now we begin to prepare ourselves for the next phase of the One World Wellness road tour.

Welcome to Loveland

Lucy the Coon Hound.

The sun finally just broke through the clouds after a chilly morning in the wild, green foothills near Salt Lake City, Utah. We were invited by some new friends to join them and all of their dogs at their rustic getaway cabin for the weekend. It's finally allowed me to take some time to catch up on my writing. Another beautiful place on our earth! More beautiful people to connect with!

Our final days in Mexico were really special. The great people we encountered made it difficult to cross the border and trek back into the "real world" of the USA. The kindness and generosity of the Mexican culture is something we can all take a lesson from. They give and give almost to a fault. We felt like we were treated as family everywhere we went.  On our last night south of the border, in Los Mochis, we Couchsurfed with a wonderful man with whom we shared our final Mexican sunset and a bounty of beautiful conversation. We were sad to part ways, as this has been a common theme for us for many years in many places. It's hard to sever the ties that we create with each special spirit that we cross paths with...though those invisible ties seem to remain forever intertwined within our soul memories.

We crossed into the USA in Nogales, Arizona. We hoped that our huge cacao stash wouldn't cause any issues as we passed on through. We were thoroughly searched and had to surrender our mangos and a half-rotten cacao pod. The guards questioned our boxes of cacao. They informed us that it's necessary to have all food items labeled with contents and point of origin. They then proceeded to shout "CA-CAO! CACAO!" As they made finger guns and pretended to shoot each other. Hilarious. And so very American. We always keep a decorated glass Mason jar with us, for the last couple of years at least. Of course, we brought it on this trip. It contains our positive intentions, affirmations and loving requests to the universe. It really works. As a border officer dug through the trunk of the car, he asked what the jar was. We simply said "it's our good vibes jar." He laughed and said "Cool. That makes sense." I said "I put some good vibes into that jar that would help us get through this border crossing smoothly. Let's see if it works...." Just then, his partner came back from consulting with her supervisor and gave us a packet of papers. She smiled and said we were just getting a warning. Next time, we should follow the rules.

We headed for Tucson, Arizona arriving at nightfall and found a quaint and very affordable motel room. The man behind the desk was not so friendly. Somehow it came up that we just crossed back into the USA after 5 months in Mexico and Central America. I was feeling like I just stepped out of a spaceship onto another planet being back in America. I said "I am glad we found this sweet motel. I feel..." And he interjected with "a lot safer?"  I paused and looked at him with a bewildered stare. I shook my head no. I felt like a fish out of water. On a unicycle.
So this is culture shock.

For the record: Mexico and Guatemala are both beautiful, welcoming countries full of regular people just like you and I. For many decades, North American media has portrayed these places, and much of our planet, as dangerous, violent and "out to get you".  It's simply not true! There was never, ever a single moment in the last 5 months that we felt we were in a hint of danger. The scariest thing is the USA border crossings! The worst thing that happened during our trip was that some of our favorite bumper stickers got peeled off of our car in Guatemala. (So we are replacing them slowly.)

A bumper sticker from our 2013 USA trip

We got used to all of the Mexican police and military check stops after passing dozens of them. We often got waved through with a smile. When we did get stopped, we felt like they just wanted to chat for fun. It was fun. We realized quickly that these people are just like us. Only it's their job to look intimidating and ask a lot of questions. It is definitely true that there is some corruption, crime and poverty in every place on the globe. The USA and Canada are no different. The biggest difference that I noticed in the Mexican and Guatemalan people is that they have an inner determination and self-sufficient attitude that many (certainly not all) Americans and Canadians just don't have. They aren't waiting around to be taken care of. Especially in the state of Chiapas, Mexico. I whole-heartedly support the stance that the indigenous (and other) people of that place continue to take. Independence. Freedom. Equality. Respect. Peace. Love. That's all any of us desire. Let's make it happen. Our future can be in our own hands. Grab it by the reins!

Home Sweet Motor Home

Winding through the rolling coastal hills of Southern California, we breathed in the ocean air and the scent of eucalyptus groves.
We learned that the eucalyptus, which is native only to Australia, was brought to the California coast during the Gold Rush, in the late 1800's to help reforest the barren land and supply lumber for the massively expanding industry. Tycoons bought up large tracts of land and planted millions of blue gum eucalyptus seedlings. They built large sawmills, anticipating the harvest of these giant lumber groves. Little did they know, that these trees can't be used for lumber until they are at least 75 years old. Until then, the wood just isn't the right consistency and quality for lumber. The oils also didn't stand up to their native friends across the globe. So now these 150+ foot-tall giants are seen along nearly the entire coast of California. They sure are lovely.

We decided to take our time and enjoy the famous El Camino Real coastal highway along the majority of the California coast. It was certainly the curviest road I have ever experienced. The huge cliffs and rugged landscape were just awesome. I can't imagine the job of constructing the roads and bridges all along the Pacific Ocean. What a gigantic project.

As we came around one curve, we saw three California Condors perched on a cliff beside the road with their wings spread out wide, catching the rays of the setting sun. I remember learning about their extinction when I was in grade school. So I did some research online and discovered that in the 90's the remaining few were captured and repopulated then released in 3 states in the southwest. As of May 2013, there were only 237 of them recorded in the wild. If you aren't familiar, condors are giant vultures, with a wingspan of 3 meters, or nearly 10 ft. The largest bird in North America. Pretty cool.

We arrived in San Francisco late one evening during a crazy wind storm that blew from the coastal mountains out to the ocean. We thought that was strange, and so we asked our hosts about it. They said that a couple of times each year these Santa Ana winds come out from the mountains and are historically reminiscent of major energetic shifts or natural disasters, such as earthquakes. (Shiver). Luckily, we didn't experience any quakes.
The next day we took a ferry from Oakland to San Francisco for the day. We rented bikes and rode along the Embarcadero, which follows the piers and turns into a trail that ends up at the Golden Gate Bridge.

We rode out onto a pier to see Alcatraz in the distance. It was a Saturday, and parents had their kids out on the pier helping to catch fish and with checking their crab traps. We were fairly intrigued by a billboard that showed various species of fish in two columns. One side said "less chemicals" on green writing and one side said "more chemicals" in red. Neither one sounds appealing to me.  I feel sad that our oceans are so dirty because of humans. The world has treated them as a garbage dump for way too long. (One more point on the long list of reasons why we strive to eat a vegan diet.)

Lavender, olives in distance.

After San Fran, we headed northeast into the mountains to  see a relative at a place called Lakeport, on the shore of Clear Lake, the largest lake in the USA. En route, we passed orchards of walnuts, olives, pears, and thousands of acres of grape vineyards. The terrain was very hilly and barren, covered in dry grasses sprinkled with gnarled scrub oaks.

Ceago villa

We got a tour of some of the surrounding villages and had a stroll around a winery. Neither of us was feeling like ourselves that day, so we opted out of wine tasting. If we had done a tasting, this would have been the place. It was called Ceago and it was organic and biodynamically maintained. In addition to grapes, the grounds featured lemons, oranges, olives, and lavender.
The same Santa Ana winds had hit the east side of the lake a couple of days prior, and dozens of massive oaks and palms had fallen across roads and roofs had been torn off of quite a few homes. The whole community seemed to be outside chopping wood and mending fences and roofs.

Our next stop was the Redwoods. We made a quick detour to drive through a tree (I know. It sounds very touristy.) I can recall my grandma telling me about her family driving through the same tree 60 years ago. It's called the Chandelier tree and its over 300' tall. It would have taken a whole car full of people holding hands to hug that tree!

We drove along the Oregon coast and chose a state park deep in the majestic cedars to pitch our tent for the night. It was a clear quiet night except for the faint babbling of a nearby creek. There were only two other campsites occupied in the whole campground, probably due to the chilly weather. We woke up in the middle of the night to the most bizarre sounds we have ever heard in nature. My best description is a heavy old squeaky wooden door, mixed with humpback whale song and a child's plastic kazoo whistle. We heard two calls back and forth for about 5 minutes. Then they stopped. We were speechless and laid in silence for a half hour waiting to hear more. Nothing.
Our conclusion? Sasquatch. Laugh if you will, but nothing else either of us has ever heard (and we both grew up surrounded by nature) anything like it. Not coyotes, not elk, not birds. Hey, it's possible that Bigfoot exists. Just sayin'...It's possible.

We spent a night in Eugene, Oregon. What an awesome, artistic town. Wish we had more time there, but we were on a mission to reach our relatives on Whidbey Island, off the coast of Washington for Thanksgiving #2.

They own a health food store and a vegan cafe, which were both welcome destinations after two months of mysterious greasy restaurant meals that our stomachs (and waistlines) weren't fans of. They also just completed a large retreat center on the beach, complete with a walking labyrinth, built with care by family and friends out of ocean treasures.  While walking it in a slow, meditative pace, a hummingbird zoomed by twice and then hovered right behind me. A good omen, I assume.

We spent 5 days there resting and enjoying the ocean and the eagles that were gracing us with their presence and songs daily. After 4 days of soggy, foggy weather, the sun came out. My "second mama" came across the bay from Victoria on a ferry to spend a few days with us before she departed to Puerto Escondido, Mexico for the winter. She will be teaching health and wellness at a place called the Sanctuary. Will that be our next destination? Time will tell. It's sooo tempting!

We arrived back on Vancouver Island and were thrilled to see that our moHo awaited us right where we left her with some good friends. A familiar place at last! We saw our first skiff of snow of the season today and were grateful that we didn't have to dig out of the blizzard that much of Alberta has been enduring this week. Sorry Alberta. We do miss our wonderful pals, but not the -30 Celsius weather. We have the heat on full force in here as it is, and it's only just below freezing here. Yikes.

So. What now? I am personally feeling quite lost and out of sorts today. My mind is still traveling after two months, 28 states, 3 provinces, 2.5 oil changes, 7 ferries and 18,000 kilometers of road. You may wonder what I have concluded at the end of this journey. Did we find the answers to some of our questions? I will try to be concise:

1.  Wherever you go, there you       are. So. True. Always.

2.  Be greatful for all that you have. There are millions (or billions) of people who have much less than you do.

2.  Humans want to reach out and connect with each other, even with perfect strangers. Sharing stories, food, love and laughter is what makes life more wonderful.

3.  Every place has its pros and cons. It is what you make it.

4.  Most people are oblivious to what exactly is in the "food" that they are putting into their mouths and the mouths of their children. Or where it comes from, for that matter. If our moHo was a billboard, it would be flashing food facts to help people make more informed choices. Ooooh. I like that idea.

***5.  In every state we visited, at every age, in all walks of life, people are working themselves to the point of illness and misery. (And we aren't exceptions...yet!) We saw the pattern daily. Everywhere. People hoping to achieve their goals and dreams, only to be stuck in a perpetual struggle of declining health (cancer, heart attacks, diabetes, high blood pressure) and endless debt payments. What is the point? There must be a larger purpose for humanity. Why do we all keep agreeing to perpetuate this mad system? Mortgages, rent, healthcare, credit card debt, car payments, student loans, taxes and on and on and on and on. First world tread mill anyone? Unplug it for good. We can make a shift if we all take a stand. As we uncover the solutions to the madness, I promise to share it. Right here. Piece by piece by peace.

Ps. Comments and questions are always welcome. :D

Living for love. Loving your life.

One of my passions is helping other people to help themselves. Maybe they're stuck in a quicksand career, in a relationship that just doesn't fit, or regularly finding themselves in a conflict with one person or another. Some folks just feel lost altogether and don't know what to do!

Well, recently, after a move to remote northern Alberta, I was feeling out of sorts. A friend gave me a book, which I enjoyed cover-to-cover, but one simple exercise stood out and it has shifted my life in a big way. I have shared my own version of this idea with a few close pals who needed a boost. I don't think there is a single person out there who's life won't change for the better from this idea:

Choose a quiet place to sit down with a piece of paper and a pen (dig in your junk drawer, you must have these somewhere! :). Make a list of everything that you LOVE. List the things that make your spirit smile, Or make you feel joyful and light-hearted, or laugh like a child again. Write down the things that make you feel like YOU!  Start with the obvious ones, then dig deeper. They can be anything from sunsets to biking, ice cream, butterflies, sports, visiting with pals, walking your dog or giving hugs. I have even been adding more things each week that I forgot that I love! (P.S. make sure you realllllly love these things and that they aren't things your partner loves or even worse, things you are obligated to do!) Some of these things may only be  achievable once or twice a year. Oh, and cover all seasons!

Ok. Once you have your list, post it somewhere that you will look at it every single morning. Now make it your priority to do at least two of these things (more would be amazing!) Every. Single. Day. I have been adding check marks next to the things that I do each day. This way I can see which ones I am doing (usually the easiest to fit in) and can see which of my loves I am still neglecting to gift to myself, and making them happen.

In a matter of a few days, I felt more like myself again. I felt empowered, uplifted and free. Too many of us put ourselves last every day and eventually, we feel exhausted, grumpy, depleted and generally unhappy...even resentful! None of these things are beneficial to us or our loved ones.

Make yourself your own priority. We all deserve it. I would love to hear how this idea has helped you in your daily life. After all, you're the only one who knows what you really need to be your most vibrant and wonderful self.  <3
